Athleta at Village of Merrick Park
Athleta a retail store, with a closed loop water source heat pump system. The system installed has (2) WSHP “Trane” units with a total of 10 tons of cooling. Each unit is controlled by (1) space temp sensors, and a 7-day programmable thermostats. Each WSHP unit has an economizer at the return air duct work to control the specified cfm of outside air entering each unit being fed from malls outside air. The air distribution system consist of sheet metal duct work wrapped with 2” R-6 duct wrap insulation, along with supply air 24X24 lay-in diffusers, and 24X24 perforated lay-in return air grilles by Titus. All piping was installed with black steel pipe, along with all fittings. All hydronic specialties; pressure gauges, thermometers, 2 way control valve, and circuit setter are Taco brand U.L rated. Both restroom have exhaust duct work tied to the malls ventilation system. All work was performed per the latest Miami Dade Building Code and was inspected and approved by Coral Gables Building Department.
